How does booking work?

Explore on Bike connects you with trusted local e-bike tour partners across Europe. Most tours use a simple authorize → confirm → charge flow so operators can check availability before your card is charged.

Step 1 — Choose your tour Pick a date, time, and number of travelers on the tour page, then continue to checkout.

Step 2 — Authorize your card (most tours) At payment, we place a temporary hold for the booking total. This is not a charge — funds stay on your card until the operator responds. You'll see "Authorize card" instead of "Pay now" when this applies.

Step 3 — Operator review The local partner reviews your request. They typically respond within 35 hours (often much sooner). You'll receive email updates at each step.

Step 4 — Confirmed or released If the operator accepts, your card is charged and you receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket and PDF. If they decline or don't respond in time, the authorization is released automatically — you are not charged.

Instant-confirm tours Some tours skip the wait: payment is captured immediately and your e-ticket arrives straight away.
