THE FIX
The challenge was to create an internal monthly email newsletter for approximately 500 Rogers Sports and Media employees, featuring upcoming events, completed projects, and recognizing outstanding teammates. The newsletter needed to incorporate a sports-inspired aesthetic, reflecting the organization's key asset, Sportsnet, without mimicking its brand. It also needed to offer flexibility for easy content updates. The strategy involved understanding content requirements, crafting a layout wireframe, and transitioning to visual design with client-approved examples. The resulting newsletter embraced a sporty aesthetic with an eye-catching header and a color palette inspired by Sportsnet while maintaining its own identity. It was designed for seamless viewing on both mobile and desktop and was easy for the editor to update in Mailchimp. The client expressed immense satisfaction, with the VP of Marketing and Creative endorsing it enthusiastically. The newsletter achieved a 60% average open rate and received positive feedback for its easy-to-use template.
